Biography
The Pogues are credited for being the founders of Celtic Punk. The band formed in 1982 with the very charismatic frontman, Shane MacGowan. The band made a name for themselves by playing traditional Irish Folk with a punk rock influence. The band came together in Northern London with the name Pogue Mahon, being an anglicisation from the Irish langue psg mo thsin meaning "kiss my ass."Discography
